Rules and Recommendations
For grades 6 - 8 players will be assessed by EYSA coaches and board members during the annual skills clinic (Saturday, April 14). Each player will be ranked on their skill level for pitching, throwing, catching, fielding, hitting and general athleticism. Results of these rankings will be kept confidential but will be used in assembling teams for the 2012 season. As has been our practice in the past, EYSA will continue to honor 'friend requests' for girls who want to play with their friends, as well as assemble teams based on school. Rosters will be announced in mid April.
6th - 8th Grade Game Nights
6th-8th Graders play on Mondays (Doubleheaders)
First Practice/Scrimmage is on Monday, May 2.
*** Only one day per week until School is out for Summer ***
Our goal is that all players receive equal and fair playing time in each game throughout the season.
Each player receives a team jersey (which may not be altered). Players provide their own gloves and wear either tennis shoes or non-metal cleats. Batting helmets, bats and balls are provided, though families are welcome to provide their own if desired.
4th-8th grade teams will participate in a year-end round-robin EYSA tournament at Van Valkenburg Park.
6th-8th grade teams will participate in Edina’s league and also have a few games against Richfield
REGISTRATION FOR 2012 SEASON IS NOW OPEN!!
Please plan on signing up early, but families will have until April 10 to register. Fee for this League is $95.
