General House League Information
Teams are created based on grade level for the 2011-2012 school year. For grades 4 - 8 we will use an Equidraft System to ensure that teams are created with an equal distribution of talent. Players will be assessed by EYSA coaches and board members during the annual skills clinic on April 14. Each player's skill level will be ranked on pitching, throwing, catching, fielding, hitting and general athleticism. Results of these rankings will be kept confidential but are important in assembling teams for the 2012 season. As has been our practice in the past, EYSA will continue to honor 'friend requests' for girls who want to play with their friends, as well as assemble teams based on school, particularly at the elementary grade levels. Rosters will be announced in mid April.

K & 1st Grade Thursday (Tee-ball & Coach Pitch)
2nd & 3rd Grade Monday & Wednesday (Coach Pitch)***
4th & 5th Grade Tuesday & Thursday (Player Pitch & Coach Pitch)***
6th-8th Grade Monday (Doubleheaders)
9th-12th Grade Tuesday (Doubleheaders)
*** Only one day per week until School is out for Summer - see details on Grade Level page
Our goal is that all players receive equal and fair playing time in each game throughout the season.
Each player receives a team jersey (which may not be altered). Players provide their own gloves and wear either tennis shoes or non-metal cleats. Batting helmets, bats and balls are provided, though families are welcome to provide their own if desired.
K - 3rd grades will have a year-end game at Van Valkenburg Park
4th-8th grade teams will participate in a year-end round-robin EYSA tournament at Van Valkenburg Park
6th-8th grade teams will participate in Edina’s league and also have a few games against Richfield
9th-12th graders will form 1 or 2 Edina teams and will play within Richfield's league (Information on Richfield Girls Softball Association can be found here).
